project brief:
The Afiya Center wanted to officially brand a yearly reproductive justice summit they've hosted for a few years. They wanted a branding concept that incorporated African Mudcloth designs, rich gem-tones, a cut-out collage motif, and to feature black women as much as possible. Other project deliverables included, marketing and promotional materials for social media, event signage, presentation screens, a t-shirt, and badges.
project outcome:
We were able to create together a set of (5) colorful Mudcloth inspired patterns that created a perfect backdrop for a bold logo that asked the question of the summit, "Do You Trust Black Womxn or Nah?" I used artful collages featuring photos of black women to illustrate subjects and provide context across deliverables. I worked with an Event Coordinator, Swan Productions, to develop the signage and presentation screens to round out a colorfully memorable and informative event!
